Connection with purpose

Be heard. Learn something useful.

Of Sound Mind is developing adult support and skills groups that combine guided discussion with psychoeducation: clear, practical information that helps members understand shared challenges and explore useful ways of responding.

Groups may include reflection, coping-skills practice, communication exercises, and space to share experiences. You do not have to have everything figured out before expressing interest.

Facilitated by Mirfat Addi, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC. The purpose, scope, participation expectations, and suitability of each group will be discussed before enrollment.

Topics we are exploring

Different experiences.
A shared opportunity to grow.

Social connection

Confidence in social situations

Explore social discomfort, self-talk, boundaries, and communication through education and practical skills.

Recovery & support

Substance use and recovery

Potential groups for people navigating recovery or loved ones seeking education and support. Each audience will have its own group focus.

Shared experiences

Life transitions and everyday stress

Explore stress, emotional coping, and challenges shared by particular communities or life stages. Tell us which topics would be helpful.

These are proposed topics, not a current schedule. Group offerings will be announced as sufficient interest develops.

Ways to participate

Online or in person.
Find a setting that fits.

Online groups

Meet by video from a private setting. Availability depends on your location, the group’s scope, and applicable professional requirements. Eligibility will be confirmed before enrollment.

Before you join

A few helpful answers

What does an open group mean?

New members may join an ongoing group after a brief screening and orientation, when space is available. You do not necessarily need to wait for a new series to begin. Open enrollment does not mean unannounced drop-in attendance.

Are these groups already running?

We are gathering interest and developing offerings. Schedules will be established based on topic requests, availability, and enrollment. Joining the interest list does not reserve a place or guarantee that a particular group will run.

What will groups cost? Can I use insurance?

Fees and insurance arrangements are being reviewed. You will receive clear payment information before enrollment. No payment is collected through the interest form.

How will privacy work?

Members will be asked to respect one another’s privacy, use a private setting for online meetings, and avoid recording or sharing group discussions. The limits of confidentiality will be reviewed before participation. Other members’ confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

Is a group a replacement for individual treatment?

A support and skills group may complement other care. Its suitability depends on your needs and the group’s scope; it is not a substitute for urgent care or individualized treatment when needed. We will discuss fit and other resources during screening.
